Looking for some summer hair inspiration? Look no further! We are breaking down the hottest summer looks. Hello, #summervibes!
Mermaid Hair Colors
This look relies heavily on having long, wavy hair (either naturally or styled) and your ability to complement your skin tone. A dark base starts at the roots with two or more colors infused towards the bottom half of your hair. Blending blues and greens is key to achieving this look. Straight dyeing the bottom half of your hair is not going to cut it, we’re not going for a chunky look. The color needs to be intertwined and alternated, like getting highlights.
The beachy waves finalize the look by mixing in the colors even more. Throw in some purples and maroons to complement those blues. You can go bold with bright colors or for a softer look, pastel versions look awesome too. There are many shades of each color, so see which ones best fit your skin tone. The same rule applies for your dark base color at the roots. Our ColourFix³™ Leave-In Conditioner is ideal for restoring hair after processing and to keep colors vivid.
You must have heard the term ‘Bronde’ by now. It’s a hybrid of brown and blonde. Toffee tones and warm hues of coffee are highlighted this summer – which is exactly what this is! The best thing about this trend is that your skin receives a natural glow and literally anyone can find a brown tone that complements them. Vary the colors and highlights in your hair so the style seems natural.
Blonde is back with a vengeance! Highly reflective golds and silver platinum are hot this summer. The trick is to maintain the highlights around your dark roots, so it seems intentional rather than a cover up. If you’re not a natural blonde, the rooty-blonde style will help you go longer between salon visits. To enhance and maintain the brightness of your blondes and silvers, a blue pigment needs to be incorporated to offset the brassiness of the yellow hues. Toning blonde hair is super simple with our BlondeAmbition™ Luxury Brightening Shampoo. For natural and unnatural blondes, this shampoo is essential!
Who doesn’t love pink & gold? A subtle nod to the flashy colors of yesteryear, the new pink is softer and shinier. Honey-toned hair is overlaid with pinks to give us Rose Gold. Just like the precious metal, this shade will enhance the peach and yellow tones in your skin. Altogether feminine and soft, this look can be easily transferred into the Fall.
This summer is full of gorgeous color ideas! We always recommend seeing a professional stylist when color-treating your hair. Let your favorite stylist help you enhance skin tones with some of these summer looks. You can make any of these styles work. Be sure to tag us in your looks – @sudzzfxinc. Happy summer!
The Classic Bob Haircut is a no-nonsense style. If you’re looking for an instant change, shedding your longer locks for a Classic Bob is one of the easiest ways to do that. Shorter hair means less effort, less hair ties, and it also comes with a range of all new ways to style. Here are a few of our favorites.
Middle Part Bob
The Classic Bob is usually a clean cut with a part down the middle. This works great for finer hair. A bob haircut will give you volume. This is a clean, straight forward look that doesn’t require layering. Spray damp hair with BlowOut Volumizing Spray Gel to give your bob an instant boost of volume.
Part Pixie Bob
If you’re looking for something with an edge, the Part Pixie Bob blends the best parts of a bob and a pixie cut. Not too long and not too short, the Pixie Bob cut gives you the freedom of a short cut with the ability to style it as you wish. The cut can look great with both straight and curly hair. The best part about this cut? It’s low maintenance. You can go days without shampooing, but when you do, reach for the Whipped Creme & Honey Volumizing Shampoo to add body and texture to your hair.
Blown Out Layered Bob
The Blown Out Layered Bob haircut is a timeless hairstyle that will make you feel chic any day of the week. This style is composed of voluminous layers, so it takes a bit of effort to achieve and maintain. For added ease, the Marmalade Jazz Dri-Jel Texturizing Pomade will allow you to get your style just right and keep it looking fresh and healthy all day.
Smooth + Blunt Bob
The most iconic bob is probably the smooth look with blunt bangs. This cut has worked as a power look for decades. The Smooth + Blunt Bob hits just below the chin, with bangs hitting at the brow. This short look may make you susceptible to fly-aways, so use a pump of ColourFix³™ Leave-In Conditioner to hold a smooth shine.

The average hairdresser looks at a razor and runs in the other direction. With a new year right around the corner…NOW is the time to start practicing and embrace the razor like never before. Here’s why…
It is truly, the best tool to remove volume from hair by collapsing the cut without adding layers. It can also be used to create texture. You’ll love using it on fine hair types because it means you don’t have to sacrifice the fullness of the hair. A razor works great to create movement on all hair types.
Understandably, a bad razor cut (often resulting in frayed ends) can train you to stay far away from them, but practice will make perfect. The razor should always be used very deliberately and should never damage the hair. Despite what people think, you can use a razor on straight hair, curly hair, super-curly hair, fine hair, medium hair, and especially on thick hair. The key to a good razor cut is your training. Each part of that tiny—and sharp!—blade is meant to be used in a specific way. And when not used correctly, it can cause a bit of a disaster. Make 2017 the year you embrace it!
Reddit user moniquey, a true wizard, posted a mesmerizing GIF online that shows her switching her hair from bubblegum pink to a trendy cool blue in a matter of seconds. No, it isn’t video editing or actual magic that makes it happen, just a very creative use of hair dye. By employing a deep side part, moniquey can have half her hair appear blue while the pink hides underneath. Then with a simple hair flip she can totally transform her look, putting a new spin on the 2016 trend of “mermaid hair.”
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For so many of us for so long now, long layers have been almost a given. Whether we take our hair shorter or grow it longer, they’re part of the equation. With good reason—they can lighten up thick hair and add volume and movement to thinner hair, and they facilitate those swooping, face-framing sections that flatter every face shape.
BUT. There’s a new haircut in town (Hollywood-town), and it’s all about not layering—at least not noticeably. We’re referring to the blunt cut. Perfectly even ends just look so fresh right now. Or even, as Lena Dunham put it on Instagram last week, poetic. “I miss @zoe.kazan so I am sharing this photo I took of her blunt ends, which are so poetic to me,” she captioned this photo. While growing out her short hair, Dunham herself has been wearing blunt ends, according to the man behind her most recent cut, Marcus Francis, who happens to have given Julianne Moore a blunt cut just last night. He says both his clients and fellow celebrity hairstylists are definitely feeling the straight-edged vibe right now. “It’s a departure from the scraggly undone hair that was around for a while,” he explains. “Blunter and undone looks healthier and more enviable.”
But even a simple ponytail can look modern and polished with sharp, ironed ends…such as this one on Natalie Portman!

The resurgence of slick hard holds!
Slick or slicked back hair, both of which are interchangeable, has been around for a while. And like many other classic hairstyles, the slick back haircut has reemerged to become a popular modern style for men in 2016. To get the modern slick back hairstyle, you must combine a fade haircut on the sides (high, mid, low, or skin fade) with medium to long hair on top. This particular style is known as the “slicked back undercut”. There is also the more classic, long slick back hair that does not require a fade on the sides.
