Braids are a fun way to style a range of different hair types and they even work with shorter hair! We’re breaking down how to get the most out of your braids and bringing you a few style ideas!
First off, you’ll want to make sure your hair is properly conditioned before tying into braids. Use our ColourFix³™ Leave-In Conditioner which will keep your hair moisturized without creating buildup.
Waterfall Braids
Waterfall braids get their name from the way they cascade down your head like falling water. This striking and intricate-looking braid can actually be quite easy to pull off! If you have shorter hair, start your braid at your forehead and gently drop it as you get to the back of your head. Finish the braid in a fishtail and secure with hairpins.
Fishtail Braids
This braid is everywhere and we have no doubt it’s because of its unique and winding appearance, setting it apart from the traditional braid. You can pull it up in a ponytail for a clean appearance. Or, you can combine it with a french style braid starting at the scalp and change it to a fishtail braid as you go down. This will give you a gorgeous fairytale princess look. Start this braid by separating your hair into two even sections. Take a half-inch piece from the outside of a section and pull it over and across so that it’s joined with the inside of the other section. Make sure you don’t twist the hair as you bring it across. Repeat until you run out of hair!
French Braid
You’re no doubt familiar with the french braid. It’s a classic, but you can switch up this style by starting it all the way at your hairline and creating a french braid mohawk. Bam! A traditional braid just became an edgy look.
Be sure to finish off your braids with LiquidLuxe™ Luxury Mist. It’ll give your hair gorgeous shine while holding your ‘do in place all day long.
