The average hairdresser looks at a razor and runs in the other direction. With a new year right around the corner…NOW is the time to start practicing and embrace the razor like never before. Here’s why…
It is truly, the best tool to remove volume from hair by collapsing the cut without adding layers. It can also be used to create texture. You’ll love using it on fine hair types because it means you don’t have to sacrifice the fullness of the hair. A razor works great to create movement on all hair types.
Understandably, a bad razor cut (often resulting in frayed ends) can train you to stay far away from them, but practice will make perfect. The razor should always be used very deliberately and should never damage the hair. Despite what people think, you can use a razor on straight hair, curly hair, super-curly hair, fine hair, medium hair, and especially on thick hair. The key to a good razor cut is your training. Each part of that tiny—and sharp!—blade is meant to be used in a specific way. And when not used correctly, it can cause a bit of a disaster. Make 2017 the year you embrace it!
Reddit user moniquey, a true wizard, posted a mesmerizing GIF online that shows her switching her hair from bubblegum pink to a trendy cool blue in a matter of seconds. No, it isn’t video editing or actual magic that makes it happen, just a very creative use of hair dye. By employing a deep side part, moniquey can have half her hair appear blue while the pink hides underneath. Then with a simple hair flip she can totally transform her look, putting a new spin on the 2016 trend of “mermaid hair.”
SUDZZfx IN THE PRESS! “Reverse the Green with Nyrvana”
Featured in: Estetica Magazine!
Whether it is from swimming pools treated with chlorine or as a result of high levels of copper from residential pipes, hairdressers agree that green hair is becoming a year-round concern.
One solution in correcting the harsh effects of damaged hair that has turned various shades of green is to experience a little Nyrvana from SUDZZfx. Free of harsh, drying sulfates and packed full of restorative extracts used for both detoxifying and strengthening purposes, Nyrvana is a heavenly cleanser that helps remove chemicals used in pools and spas as well as hard water minerals within the hair structure.
“Nyrvana is the best choice in helping to eliminate green from chlorine-damaged hair,” explained company founder and CEO J. Aris Koroyan. “Nyrvana also works to remove excessive product build-up while restoring moisture balance through our micro-encapsulated FXulites formulation and is truly the mildest but most effective cleansing formulation in any professional purifying category.”
Nyrvana contains FXulites, the potent reparative complex blending of multi-benefit ingredients that reduces the signs of visible damage to the hair while nourishing, strengthening and hydrating the inner and outer structure of the hair. The protective cocktail of proteins and natural botanical extracts of honey, asparagus, parsley, cucumber, avocado and wheat flour imparts the luster and shine to even the most damaged hair. Safe for color treated hair, Nyrvana can also be used daily without stripping color.
There are two ways to use Nyrvana. Wet hair thoroughly and massage in ample amount and SUDZZ up before rinsing. On dry hair, massage ample amount from scalp to ends. Rinse and then cleanse as normal. SWIMMERS: Leave on 5 minutes with a plastic cap under warm dryer to help remove chlorine and swimmers green cast. Use as often as needed.
Nyrvana is available in an 10.1 oz. bottle for the suggested salon price of $11.98.
Last year was the first New York Fashion Week specifically dedicated to men’s fashion. Held last July, it was a smashing success. This year it kicked off Monday, February 1st through Thursday, February 4th…riding on the heels of men’s fashion week Paris.
SUDZZfx was the official hair sponsor of two leading men’s fashion designers: Julian Eugene Woodhouse of WOODHOUSE and Dexter Cheston of DEXTERDEXTERDEXTER. BUT. There’s a new haircut in town (Hollywood-town), and it’s all about not layering—at least not noticeably. We’re referring to the blunt cut. Perfectly even ends just look so fresh right now. Or even, as Lena Dunham put it on Instagram last week, poetic. “I miss @zoe.kazan so I am sharing this photo I took of her blunt ends, which are so poetic to me,” she captioned this photo. While growing out her short hair, Dunham herself has been wearing blunt ends, according to the man behind her most recent cut, Marcus Francis, who happens to have given Julianne Moore a blunt cut just last night. He says both his clients and fellow celebrity hairstylists are definitely feeling the straight-edged vibe right now. “It’s a departure from the scraggly undone hair that was around for a while,” he explains. “Blunter and undone looks healthier and more enviable.”
But even a simple ponytail can look modern and polished with sharp, ironed ends…such as this one on Natalie Portman!
The resurgence of slick hard holds!
Slick or slicked back hair, both of which are interchangeable, has been around for a while. And like many other classic hairstyles, the slick back haircut has reemerged to become a popular modern style for men in 2016. To get the modern slick back hairstyle, you must combine a fade haircut on the sides (high, mid, low, or skin fade) with medium to long hair on top. This particular style is known as the “slicked back undercut”. There is also the more classic, long slick back hair that does not require a fade on the sides.
As we celebrate the resurgence of interest for our SUDZZfx Chizel Hard Rock Gel…we dig through our dusty archives to tell the long lineage hair gels have!
Did you know that the ancient Egyptians who gave birth to so many beauty firsts were also the inventors of the first hair gel? Natalie McCreesh, an archaeological scientist from the KNH Centre for Biomedical Egyptology at the University of Manchester, England, and her colleagues studied hair samples taken from 18 mummies. Analysis of hair fibers identify the popularity of a fat-based hair styling gel that was used to keep hair in place in both life and death! The oldest is approximately 3,500 years old, but most were excavated from a cemetery in the Dakhleh Oasis in the Western Desert and date from Greco-Roman times, around 2,300 years ago!
